london in the winter

i'm in london this week for meetings. many meetings. but it also gave me a chance to see my friend Rahsaan, who i haven't seen in over a year. he's finishing up grad school -- poly science -- with a view to be a professor at a university... somewhere. it was great to catch up with him over a nice curry dinner. the weather here is nice -- too nice. numerous reports on global warming on imminent, seemingly, with the craziness going on this year. it is certainly being talked about here on the BBC. see my post of a few weeks ago re: Al Gore's "An Inconvenient Truth"

mami loula - my Terminator grandmother

grandma week

so apparently, it's grandma week on my blog. a few days ago i posted a card i made for my mom's mom - for her 90th birthday. today my aunt and grandma (dad's side) came to visit. my aunt, dyliane, made me some nice green pillows to go with my new green, black and white color scheme. anyhow, we chatted and went to lunch. my grandma looks good, huh? kinda like the terminator with the sunglasses -- but she won't hurt you. promise. though she did say "i'll be bahck." as she left. :)

it's the little things... sometimes

so, my blender broke last week. i use it pretty frequently to make protein shakes and smoothies and stuff. promptly, i scurried over the 'Bed, Bath & Beyond' - the one-stop shop for all things kitchen (as well bedroom, bathroom -- and outer space, apparently from the name...) anyhow, i picked a SWEET!!! Oster blender with a bunch of settings and jazz. blendin' away now. very pleased. it's the little things that can brighten your day sometimes.

i'm in finland, as of 2 hours ago. the flight wasn't so bad, as i didnot have anyone sitting directly next to me so could stretch out and get some sleep... if you call 2.5 hours 'sleep'. i watched that football movie with mark wahlberg on the plane. not bad, actually. anyhow, back to the land of santa claus... its cold here but apparently was relatively warm until just a few days ago. all this crazy weather this winter -- they are saying it is NOT global warming, but rather the EL Nino shift. all i know is its weird. despite this phenomena not being global warming, i encourage you all to go out and see AN INCONVENIENT TRUTH. very well done and informative film by Al Gore. if only he'd been our president instead of the joker we ended up with... the world might be a different place.

djin' at CES

so - long story short. i used to be in charge of trade shows for north america here at Nokia Nseries. I transitioned to a global job last sept - that is specifically dedicated to sponsorships only (no trade shows). but i wanted to go to CES, since i'd initiated the project and got everyone to agree to a cool outdoor booth. last minute, one of the djs backed out -- so i ended up playing music at the booth. here is a photo. also, find more info on Nokia Nseries at CES here: -- or at

shadows in soho

i bought myself a digital camera for xmas. a nikon 6mp camera. i use my nokia nseries device (3.2mp) for most shots -- but in redesigning my apt, i'm going to use some of my own photography to decorate, so wanted to take hi-quality shots to blow up BIG. anyhow, this is one that i like. title : "shadows in soho"
